Measure your shower cubicle before you start. Most standard beach themed shower curtains are 72 inches wide and 72 inches long. If you are going to make a shower curtain for a shower cabin, the width will be smaller. Next, you will need to look at your bathroom and decide what kind of style you want. Black and white is sophisticated, while bright colors are good for a child’s bathroom. A hectic pattern will not work well in a small bathroom, but is large in large bathrooms.
It is possible to use almost any fabric for a beach shower curtain. Just make sure you install a shower curtain on the inside of the tub to protect the fabric. If you are looking for a fabric that will hang without wrinkles, then steer clear of pure cotton and choose a polyester blend. The polyester will also keep the fabric shrinking. Once you have found a pattern that you want, buy six feet of it.
Cut and Pin
The next step is to cut out the panels. Each panel should be cut to 88 inches in length. Cut two panels, and then cut one of these two panels in the middle again. You will have a center panel, plus one for each side of that panel. Then, needle the panels together. Finally, you need to put the collars to the top so you can hang your shower curtain. Place the first one 3 inches from the end, and then place the rest six inches apart. Alternatively, you can sew buttonholes instead, but place them the same inches apart as you would insert. Insert shower curtain hooks into your choice, install a bar, and hang.
